This very usual tiki drink by Sean Enright from Tiki Lounge in Pittsburgh was too good not to share. I found the recipe on Gaz Regans new cocktail app.
3/4 oz Averna
1 & 1/2 oz Bourbon
3/4 oz Don’s Mix*
1/4 oz Orgeat
Guinness top (approx 2 oz)
6 dashes Elemakule Tiki Bitters
Add Averna to a rocks glass with a large ice cube. Combine bourbon, don’s mix, orgeat and Bitters in an ice filled shaker and shake vigorously. Strain slowly over the ice to float over the Averna the float Guinness on top.
* Don’s Mix is a classic tiki ingredient consisting of one part cinnamon syrup to two parts white grapefruit juice.
