In my quest to make this a summer of Tiki, I found this while perusing childfreeadventures.com . They described it as “the ba$tard love child of a Mojito and an Orange Julius”. The original recipe was Adam Rocke’s as listed in his Tiki Cocktails book. I chose to use real egg whites and not add mint as a garnish. Instead of mint, I went an entirely different way: A Parmesan cheese crisp over a lime!
1 1/2 oz Bacardi Rum
1/2 oz Triple Sec
1/2 oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
1/4 oz Simple Syrup
Garnish: Lime Wedge (and an optional Parmesan🧀 crisp)
Combine all but the garnish into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 30+ seconds.
Fill the shaker with ice and re-shake until chilled.
Double strain over fresh ice into a tiki or hurricane-like glass (despite the original recipe’s call for an Old Fashioned glass).
