Afternoon Tea Cocktail

About this Cocktail

This drink would be nice after dinner sipper.
The amaro is a good digestif and the tea provides nice tannins. If you can’t find Cynar, another darker amaro would still work nicely.

Ingredients:
  • 1½ oz bourbon (a smoother wheated bourbon would work nice here)
  • ¾ oz Earl Grey Infused Sweet Vermouth (see recipe below)
  • ½ oz Cynar Amaro
Preparation:

To make Earl Grey Infused Vermouth: Heat 2 cups of Sweet Vermouth over low heat. Right before it starts to boil, remove from heat and steep 2 Earl Grey tea bags in hot liquid for about 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and let cool.

To make the Afternoon Tea Cocktail: Stir all ingredients together with ice and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
