This is a well balanced tipple with an piney/herbal front to it. For a variation on the spruce syrup we added green cardamom pods and a vanilla bean. I don't know which version I liked best. anyway, Enjoy!
2oz sazerac rye
.5 leopold bros alpine liqueur
.5 spruce syrup
.5 fresh lemon juice
*muddle 2 blackberries in syrup / add remaining ingredients / shake / double strain over new ice / berry and lemon peel garnish
*spruce syrup was made with spruce needles, but If pine needles are not available rosemary syrup is a suitable substitute.
