Found a number of recipes but never could find a local bar that had creme de violette. Finally bought a bottle for home and it has become my favorite spring time and brunch cocktail, not to mention one of the most beautiful with the red cherry sitting in that sea of blue. I prefer it to just a lemon twist Aviation.
2 oz London Dry gin (Plymouth or Bombay Dry)
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
1/4 oz maraschino liqueur (Luxardo)
1/4 oz creme de violette (Rothman & Winter)
maraschino or brandied cherry
Shake with ice, strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with brandied or maraschino cherry.
