Created by Neal Bodenheimer of Cure in New Orleans, this bourbon based libation is a favorite of the BarNotes team.
1.5 Oz. Henry McKenna Bonded Bourbon
.5 Oz. (1:1) simple syrup
.5 Oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1 Egg White
.75 Oz. Bonal Gentian Apertif
Grapefruit Peel (Garnish)
Dry shake egg white in a cocktail shaker. Add bourbon, simple syrup, lemon juice, and ice. Shake 15 times and then double strain into a double old fashioned glass over fresh ice. Float the Bonal on top before expressing and garnishing with grapefruit peel.
