I made two pints of Blackberry Shrub from the harvest from a wild/volunteer blackberry bush we have growing in our backyard. Berries plus vinegar plus basil seems to be a very viable combination so I decided to add a decent pile of basil to the shaker, and it came out great. The basil really completes the drink compared to the basil-free version I made last week.
2oz fighting cock 103 Bourbon
1.25oz blackberry shrub
.25oz Agave Syrup
8ish basil leaves
Add all ingredients except bitters to iceless shaker. Dry shake vigorously- like so vigorously that after a hard workout and 5hours of yardwork I got a bicep cramp shaking this drink. Add ice and shake again untill well chilled. Double strain into chilled glass. Bitters to top foam once foam has setlled.
