Served on arrival at this years Halloween Cocktail Club at The Good Spirits Co. in Glasgow.
75ml Clarified Tomato Juice*
15ml Arbikie Chilli
10ml Arbikie Potato Vodka
2 dashes Bitter Truth Celery Bitters
Salt and pepper rim
Small stick of celery garnish
Run lemon round the rim of a coupe glass and dip into a salt and pepper mix. Add all ingredients to an ice filled mixing glass and stir until chilled and diluted. Strain into rimmed coupe and garnish with small slice of celery.
*tomato juice was brought to the boil with some agar agar until it thickened. It was left to cool to a jelly like consistency and placed in a fine strainer over a bowl. It took most of a day for the juices to strain through at which point the process was repeated. This may have been a long process but I believe it is worth the effort to make a very interesting take on a Bloody Mary. Next time I’m adding some sherry.
