Bourbon and Baskets

About this Cocktail

Adapted from James Johnson's recipe from this here site (http://barnotes.co/recipes/bourbon-and-baskets), converting his metric measures to imperial with a few slight adjustments. His creation is absolutely delicious and I will not even dare to claim that I've improved upon it. And I too look forward to trying it with a bacon infused bourbon!

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz Bourbon
  • 1/4 oz Creme de Cacao
  • 1 med or 2 small Strawberries, cut up
  • 3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice (about half a lemon)
  • 1/4 oz Simple Syrup (2:1)
  • pinch of salt
Preparation:

Place coupe glass in freezer to chill. Put strawberry(ies) in shaker and crush with muddler. Add rest of ingredients plus ice and shake until well chilled. Loosely strain with a Hawthorne strainer into the chilled coupe glass (Do not double strain! You want to allow some of the strawberry bits to get through but not the ice.). If in a fancy mood, garnish with a strawberry. Drink and enjoy.
