A simple cocktail that combines the sweet taste of cola and a smooth whiskey like bourbon without doing disservice to the liquor. Instead of pouring whiskey into soda this recipe puts the cola into the whiskey.
Simple cola syrup
In a mixing glass pour 3 ounces of bourbon, 1 ounce of simple cola syrup, and 2-3 dashes of angostura bitters. Stir ingredients together without ice, then pour into waiting and chilled glass filled with ice. Garnish with a cherry.
To make the simple cola syrup:
In a medium sauce pan add 1/4 cup of cola, an bring to a low boil. Once cola has been brought to boil, add 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and stir until fully dissolved. Add an ounce of Maraschino cherry juice if cherry coke flavor is desired.
