About this Cocktail

Six years ago Saveur showcased the Castaway from the Lobby Bar & Lounge at California's Terranea Resort, a take on the piña colada owing its silky texture to Coco Lopéz, a creamy mixture of sugarcane and
coconut cream. I’ve added a small amount of the Paradise Blend to up the tiki ante — all told this has become one of my go to summer drinks. There are other cocktails named the Castaway & I haven’t tried them yet, but this one is a winner.

  • 2 oz Pineapple 🍍Juice
  • 1 oz Disaronno Amaretto
  • 1 oz Gold Rum
  • 1/2 oz Creme de 🥥 Coconut
  • 1/2 oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1/8 oz BG Reynolds Paradise Blend
  • Maraschino Cherry, Pineapple Garnishes
  • SurfSideSips glass bamboo straw

Combine all but the garnish into a cocktail shaker and fill halfway with ice.

Shake vigorously until well chilled and strain over fresh pebble ice into a chilled tiki or rocks glass.

Garnish and add a SurfSideSips straw.
