About this Cocktail

Trying to come up with drinks that sell well at a bar is something I’ve never had to understand until recently. This drink is my effort to include off the beaten path ingredients (i.e Green Chartreuse and Bonal) in a cocktail that I hope will have a broad appeal.

  • 1.5 oz Bank Note Scotch
  • 0.25 oz Green Chartreuse
  • 0.25 oz Bonal Gentiane Quina
  • 0.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 oz Simple Syrup
  • 0.25 oz Bordeaux Cherry Juice
  • 2 dashes Fee’s Rhubarb Bitters

Add everything to a shaker filled with ice and shake for 15-20 seconds. Fine strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a lemon peel speared around a Bordeaux cherry. And the whole world has to answer right now just to tell you once again... who’s bad.

Way too complex to sell at a bar for any price that 95% of people would pay. Time is money! I still want to try this at home, but I would imagine you'd have to charge about $25 for this at a bar.

Actually this one sold pretty well for only $9
