Named for the king of sweet vermouths, this is a complex, boozy but surprisingly smooth cocktail. I love the layered taste experience, between the orange on the nose, to the sweet Cynar/Bourbon/Vermouth combination, followed by the spiciness and anise that lingers from the Peychaud's, it continues to impress. 1.5 oz Cynar
1.5 oz Bourbon
3/4 oz Carpano Antica (or other high end sweet vermouth)
2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
Garnish with orange peel
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice, stir, strain into a coupe glass. Express the orange peel over the glass and drop it in.
