About this Cocktail

My riff on Nick Jarrett's Prizefighter series. I wanted to do something with Malort and I figured that apricot would complement it. I was originally going to go the sweet vermouth route true to some of the Prizefighter series until I thought of how well Swedish punsch synergizes with apricot liqueur and how punsch substituted for aromatized wines in some recipes (such as the 1940s Gaige recipe for the Corpse Reviver #2 for the Lillet).

Ingredients:
  • 1 oz Malört
  • 1 oz Swedish Punsch
  • 3/4 oz Apricot Liqueur
  • 3-4 wedge Lemon Juice
  • 6-8 leaf Mint
  • 1 pinch Salt
Preparation:

Muddle lemon, mint, and salt; add rest, shake with ice, and double strain into a double old fashioned glass; fill with crushed ice, and garnish with mint sprigs.
