One of the best drinks from a home cocktail nerd weekend this past weekend, this is just what it sounds like. It seemed obvious given the similarities between Cynar and Fernet. I upped the proportion a bit since the Cynar is a bit milder, and hedged my bets by using a cherry garnish from a batch of fresh cherries that had been soaking in fernet (and aperol) for ~ a month
1.5oz sweet vermouth
.5 oz Cynar
Fernet and Aperol soaked cherry
Mix Gin/vermouth/Cynar in ice filled mixing glass/shaker, strain into chilled glass. Express orange twist and use as garnish. Add cherry if you like.
