My REM song tribute that began with my intrigue of the apricot-Benedictine pairing. Apricot made me think of oxidized sherry and Benedictine pointed me to sweet vermouth and rye to create this Manhattan variant.
1 1/2 oz Rye Whiskey
1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth
1/2 oz Oloroso or Amontillado Sherry
1/4 oz Benedictine
1/4 oz Apricot Liqueur
Stir with ice, strain into a cocktail coupe, and garnish with an orange twist.
