My friend had a few random bottles at his place (bourbon and Cassis), but nothing else to mix a cocktail. I hand squeezed a lemon, balanced it with some maple syrup from the cabinet, shook in a jar, and drank straight from the jar. My friend liked it so much he had me make him one the same way.
Finbar is not the name of my friend, but the name his parents almost gave him. He’s has a normal name, but he prefers this one.
2 oz Bourbon
.75 oz Lemon
.5 oz Creme de Cassis
.5 oz Maple Syrup
Place 3-4 ice cubes into a jar.
Pour ingredients into the jar.
Place lid on jar and shake.
Serve in the jar.
Optional garnishes include traditional lemon peel (long) or black berries on a tooth pick.
