About this Cocktail

Gin? A little bubbly? What's not to love.

UPDATE: This makes a great punch for a party if you don't want to mix drinks all night. Start with 8 oz. of lemon juice and simple syrup, 16 oz. of gin and a full bottle of champagne to round it out.

  • 2 oz. gin
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 4 oz. sparkling wine

In a mixing glass combine gin, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a cocktail glass and top with bubbly. Garnish with lemon peel.

What's your take on using Prosecco in lieu of the champagne? Too sweet?
  • Brandon Herring
I think a prosecco or cava would go just fine in this drink. It's more important to get something of decent quality (doesn't have to be $$$) rather than specific varietal.

This drink is even better when made with with cognac instead of gin - which is apparently how it was originally prepared. Give it a try for sure.

"Better" is personal preference, but that being said its better with cognac haha... I used cava in mine at my last spot and I agree, as long as you're not using moscato (aka skittle water) I've found it works well. Love this drink.
  • Brandon Herring
    Agreed on all counts
