Frisco Rose

About this Cocktail

My fall 2016 mashup of a Frisco Sour and a Jack Rose. The Frisco's Benedictine works well with the apple brandy, the Jack Rose's grenadine conjures up thoughts of a Ward 8 with the rye, and rye and apple brandy are a natural pairing. The lemon juice was the only shared ingredient in this conjoined twin.

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 oz Rye Whiskey (I used Rittenhouse)
  • 3/4 oz Apple Brandy (here Morin Selection Calvados)
  • 1/2 oz Benedictine
  • 1/2 oz Grenadine
  • 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1 dash Peychaud's Bitters
Preparation:

Shake with ice, strain into a coupe glass, and garnish with a lemon twist.
