Found this in Charles Baker's "A Gentleman's Companion". Officially called Commander Livesey's Gin-Blind, I made a few adjustments like the addition of angostura.
Ingredients:
1 oz. London dry gin
1/2 oz Cointreau
1/3 oz. cognac
2 dashes angostura
2 dashes orange bitters
Preparation:
Combine, shake and garnish with a big piece of lemon peel.
Thought it was cool to see a cognac gin mix. Wanted to try as is but out of cointreau. Subbed Belle de Brillet (pear) and cherry bark vanilla bitters for the orange bitters and it was pretty darn good. Looking forward to trying it as written.
