Riff off a gold rush. Used habanero infused wildflower honey. Spiciness of the pepper provides a nice "sting."
2 oz Elijah Craig 12 year old Bourbon
1 oz Habanero Infused Honey Syrup
.75 oz Lemon Juice
Shake all ingredients with ice
Strain over large ice cube
Garnish with lemon peel
Habanero Infused Honey Syrup
Cut 1 habanero in quarters and put pepper and seeds into 12 oz of wildflower honey.Let sit for 2-12 hours depending on your desired level of heat. Strain pepper and seeds out. Heat 3 parts honey with 1 part water to create 3:1 honey syrup. Will last 2-4 weeks.
