About this Cocktail

In thinking about a drink I made at a previous bar called Ask the Dust with mezcal, cacao, absinthe, and Byrrh, I wondered if it would work with another smoky spirit and a different quinquina -- namely Scotch and Bonal, respectively. Benedictine was added to the mix to round out the flavor profile. Named in tribute to one of my favorite R.E.M. songs.

Ingredients:
  • 1 oz Blended Scotch
  • 1/4 oz Smoky Single Malt Scotch
  • 1 oz Bonal Gentiane-Quina
  • 1/2 oz Benedictine
  • 1/4 oz oz Crème de Cacao
  • 1 dash Absinthe
Preparation:

Stir with ice, strain into a cocktail coupe, and garnish with a lemon twist.
