Original for Trattoria Piatto, Carlisle PA

Ingredients:
  • .5 oz House-made Goji berry syrup
  • .25 oz Pisa
  • .25 Vin Santo
  • 1.5 Buffalo Trace
  • 1 Squeeze orange wedge
Preparation:

Wanted to highlight the subtlety of barrel tones in the Buffalo. This is a drink that plays to those nuances. The hidden gems of flavor that linger; this drink is for them.

Combine all ingredients over ice in mixing glass. Stir till very cold. Double strain, neat into lowball glass. Flame orange twist over glass, drop twist. DO NOT RIM GLASS.

    Goji Syrup Recipe: ~2c of dried Goji berries ~1c of Sugar ~2c Water Add berries to sauce pan with water, boil hard for roughly 10 minutes (until berries are soft), strain off berries and water. Pour water back into clean saucepan, add sugar, gently boil and lightly reduce. Discard berries or use for infusions.
