La Floridita Daiquiri

About this Cocktail

I plan to make this tonight both before and after I clean out my nasty ass freezer post Hurricane Issac. I chose the daiquiri because the considerably friendlier Issac of Love Boat fame used to make quite a few of the less pleasant frozen variety.

This particular recipe comes from as does the original photo (which I will replace once I've made my own).

From Cocktlia's description:
This is a “Hemingway-style” daiquiri, named after the ones Ernest Hemingway used to drink at La Floridita, Havana. For a more
traditional daiquiri, omit the grapefruit and maraschino liqueur.
Blend it with fruit at your own risk.

  • 1.5 ounces Light Rum
  • .5 ounces Fresh Lime Juice
  • .25 ounces Simple Syrup
  • .25 ounces Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
  • Splash of Fresh Grapefruit Juice
  • Lime wedge for garnish

Combine liquid ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake until cold, and then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with the lime wedge.
