From Fabrizia’s website, I opted to use Rye from their choice of it and 🥃 Bourbon. The recipe and the muddle calls for mint (I omitted it) and a half ounce of simple — as lemony as this Smash is, I increased the simple to three quarters of an ounce.
1 oz Caravelle Limoncello
1 oz Old Overholt Rye
1/2 oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
3/4 oz Simple Syrup
3 lemon wedges (2 to muddle, 1 for garnish)
Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and muddle lightly (Note: muddle the flesh more than the rind).
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously until chilled.
Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass and serve up. (Note: In retrospective, I think I’d prefer to serve this on ice)
