About this Cocktail
L. A. Clarke’s pre-prohibition recipe, as documented in Ted Dr. Haigh’s 1937 cocktail manual “Vintage Spirits & Forgotten Cocktails.”
1⅓ oz bourbon
⅓ oz pimento dram
⅓ oz lime juice
⅓ oz gomme syrup (gum syrup)
1 dash Angostura Bitters
Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into an “up” cocktail glass.
