Great drink I had at Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern, San Diego
0.5oz maple syrup
3 dashes of Angostura bitters
Applewood smoked bacon
Mix bourbon, syrup, bitters in a mix glass for a few swirls. Add ice and mix further to chill.
Put the orange slice in a rocks glass, give it a quick muddle. Single ice block in the glass. Strain liquid into glass. Garnish with bacon (watch the oils spread across the surface, giving that great bacon smell and slight flavor.)
