Nesmith Daiquiri

About this Cocktail

This is a Frankendrink. It started as a Hemingway Daiquiri, but I didn't have lime juice or maraschino liqueur, so I improvised as we all do. I replaced the lime juice with lemon, and the maraschino liqueur with equal parts chambord and maraschino cherry juice. It's pink instead of white but it is very tasty! The name comes from Nesmith, SC, which is a small unincorporated community just outside Hemingway. :)

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz white rum
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice (substituted from lime)
  • 1/2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 oz chambord (substituted from maraschino liqueur)
  • 1/4 oz maraschino cherry juice (substituted from maraschino liqueur)
Preparation:

Fill a cocktail shaker 3/4 with ice. Add ingredients and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail coupe and garnish with a lime wheel.
