Pinche Chueco Punch

About this Cocktail

A minor riff on a classic party punch. Tastes good. Will definitely get you there.

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup oleo saccharum
  • 3/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup cheap bourbon
  • 1 cup tequila or mezcal or combination thereof
  • 1 cup funky rum
  • 1 bottle prosecco or sparkling wine
  • Splash of cranberry juice for color
  • Pomegranate arils for garnish (or get creative)
  • Big frozen bowl of ice
Preparation:

Night before, get a good size bowl, fill with water, put in freezer. Make the oleo saccharin with lemon peels (4 lemons, keep them to make lemon juice later) and 3/4 cup turbinado sugar, makes oleo saccharum. Cover and let that deliquesce into oily sugary deliciousness over night.

Use at least a 1 gal punch bowl. Mix oleo saccharum with lemon juice, try to dissolve any leftover sugar granules (if not, no big deal). Dump in punch bowl with remaining ingredients. Float that big piece of ice you made with the bowl on top.

Sit back and watch everyone who touches it knee-walk away.
