Riffing on the Toasted Almond is the Roasted Vanilla Almond cocktail based on my collaboration with Oak City Amaretto Company. We raise the heat with a little vodka but keep it in balance by using vanilla flavored vodka in concert with two coffee flavors. The first is Tuan Maria, and the other is the softer Kahlua, but with the French Vanilla blend. Together it all come with a bit more punch, but still sort on the edges!
1 1/2 oz Oak City Amaretto
1 oz Tia Maria Coffee Liqueur
3/4 oz Vanilla Vodka
1/4 oz Kahlua French Vanilla
Grated Nutmeg garnish
Pocky Stick garnish
Combine all ingredients but the garnish into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously until chilled.
Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass (you could go over fresh ice if you were so inclined).
Grate fresh nutmeg over the top and adorn with a chocolate Pocky stick.
