Here's a drink that's seen many different reincarnations and variations. Drink created by my buddy and all-around badass bartender Joel Black. A super elevated variation of a whiskey smash that is potent and delicious.
To your tin add the honey syrup, lemon juice, 2 basil leaves and a couple chunks of bell pepper. Muddle... Lastly add your rye.
Shake and double strain over new ice.
Float the 1/4oz of Cynar on top and garnish with basil leaf and bell pepper slice.
