About this Cocktail
3/4 cup sugar
2/3 cup water
1/2 cup basil leaves OR 1 rosemary sprig
Heat sugar & water in a saucepan for 5 minutes, whisking until sugar dissolves (do not boil) & remove from heat.
Stir in herbs. Cool 30 minutes, strain through a fine-mesh strainer pressing solids, & store in airtight container for up to 1 month.
Makes about 8 oz.
