This one is a cocktail trying to make variations on the one and only old fashioned. I've been messing around with clear ice so I wanted to use it in a rocks glass. The maple syrup marries well with the peat of the Laphroaig. The St Germaine gives it a floral hint. Enjoy!
1 oz Bulleit Rye
1 oz Aged Dark rum (I used Don Q Gran Añejo)
3/4 oz St Germaine Elderflower liqueur
2-3 dashes of angostura and orange bitters each
Laphroaig 10 year (coat rocks glass)
1 bar spoon Maple syrup
1-2 dashes of Peychaud's bitters
Garnish with an orange twist
Add ingredients to a mixing glass, add ice, stir well, strain into an old fashioned glass that has been coated with Laphroaig (to coat just drizzle some of the scotch and turn glass or use an atomizer if you have one), with a big rock of ice (try clear ice, it looks amazing!). Salud!
