Loving Creme de Violette, I was attracted to a barkeeps rendition of his/hers “Lady Violette” posted on IG. No how, no way could I get the purple hue given the recipe so I tweaked it myself, gave up on the purple and opted for blue in advance of my son getting married later this year for his bride to be to try. Hence, I borrowed the recipe, tweaked it and blued it up! It’s tasty and boozy, and if you want double the recipe volumes below.
Glass: Rick J
2 oz Empress Gin
1/2 oz Triple Sec
2/3 oz Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
1/3 oz Simple Syrup
1:3 oz Creme de Violette Liqueur
1 Egg White
Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and dry shake for 20+ seconds.
Fill shaker 2/3 full with ice and shake again until well chilled.
Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass or Nick and Nora.
Note: A pale blue garter wrapped around the glass’ body (like my wife wore when we married) would make a great garnish visual!
