About this Cocktail

This recipe made its way to me in a roundabout way from the folks behind @wtfbrooklyn. It's my kind of drink in that it's more boozy and bitter than not, which some would say is another way to describe my own personality.

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz Willett Family Estate Rye
  • .75 oz Aperol
  • .25 oz Averna
  • 1 dash of orange bitters
  • Orange peel for garnish
Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in mixing glass and cover with ice. Stir 50 times (or until your arm hurts and you start to spill things). Strain into chilled coupe and garnish with orange peel.

Boozy and bitter. I love that.

Inadvertently swapped the ratios on the Averna and Aperol. Also very good.

I just keep coming back to this during the winter. Pure brilliance.
