About this Cocktail

I was handed a bottle of Luxardo Apricot and a bourbon and asked to build a drink around it. Minor morphing in a subsequent iteration and this was the final form. “A refreshing summer pre-dinner drink” was the verdict.

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz Luxardo Albicocca
  • 1.5 oz Oban or sweeter/non-smoky whisky
  • Barspoon of good apricot jam (no big fruit pieces or you won’t get either the flavor or texture)
  • 1/3 oz lemon juice
  • (Post-shake) 2 oz elderflower soda
Preparation:

Chill a coupe glass or a small goblet
Shake long and hard
Pour the elderflower soda into the glass
Strain the shaker contents into the glass (double strain if desired)
