From Oakland's The Kon-Tiki bar, basically a tropical White Russian. We reverse engineered from recipes and trial and error. Also we had to make homemade Coco Lopez (http://barnotes.co/recipes/homemade-coco-lopez).
Also inspired by other drinks in their menu, we used a mixture of rum instead of purely a plantation rum.
Make a test cocktail. Stir Coco Lopez, Firelit, and rum together in roughly these proportions and taste. Record your observations. Look, ideally, for a blend. The coffee, coconut, neither in prominence.
Mix your best cocktail together, stirred.
Fill cocktail glasses with crushed (pea) ice. Pour about 1 1/4 to 2 oz of mix into glass, to rim. Top with orchid, umbrella, and perhaps insert a straw.
