The Duke

About this Cocktail

Inspired by a cocktail I saw on Punch called El Duque. I liked the look of the drink, but I'm a bit down on the coffee cocktail thing at the moment since it can overpower spirits in a drink. Anyway, this manhattan variation mixes my favorite Rum (Diplomatico Reserva Exclusive), Manzanilla
Sherry, and China-China Amer to create a more than suitable post-meal digestif cocktail for my particular taste.
El Duque Recipe: http://punchdrink.com/recipes/el-duque/

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz. Aged Rum - Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva
  • 1 oz. Manzanilla Sherry - La Gitana
  • .5 oz. Bigallet 'China-China' Amer Liqueur
  • 3 dashes Bittermens Xocolatl Mole Bitters
  • Orange peel for garnish
Preparation:

Measure all ingredients over ice in a cocktail shaker and stir for 30 seconds or so. Strain into a chilled rocks glass over one large ice cube and garnish with wide swath of orange peel.
