About this Cocktail

I saw this drink in Dave Arnold's Liquid Intelligence book and had to make the turmeric gin and the cocktail. The color is amazing. I used Hendricks instead of Plymouth gin though.

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz Turmeric Gin
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • Generous pinch of salt
  • 1-2 dashes of rapid orange bitters
Preparation:

Combine the ingredients into a cocktail shaker, add ice, shake, and double strain into a chilled coupe glass.

*I infused the turmeric with the gin with an iSi:
500 ml gin
100 grams fresh turmeric, thinly sliced into 1/16 in disks.

Is it worth the hassle of dealing with fresh turmeric? Does it taste great? Looks amazing though. Wow!

Thanks Tim. I would definitely say it's worth it even for the color alone. The taste is more subtle so the second time I made it white a chartreuse foam to go with it. I think the next time I do it I will up it to 150 grams of fresh turmeric to give more taste and color. Happy mixing!

I finally got around to making this over the weekend and agree that it's a very tasty cocktail!
