The King's Gold

About this Cocktail

I created this drink at Ohelo Cafe in Volcano, Hawai'i. This is a very fresh & mellow take on a bourbon drink. Being fond of Bourbon yet not very interested in the strong classic drinks it belongs too, I have concocted this nutty and subtle cocktail. I call it the King's gold because after shaking the ingredients thoroughly in a tin, the froth and liquid have a rich gold color.

  • 1 3/4 oz Redemption Bourbon
  • 4 Dashes of Black Walnut Bitters
  • 3/4 oz St. Germain's Elderflower Liqour
  • 1/2 oz Triple Sec
  • Orange Slice & Mint to Garnish

Mix all liquids in tin, shake WELL and strain over bucket glass with Ice. Garnish with orange wheel and a smacked mint leaf. The mint must be smacked to release the aroma while the drink is sipped (this is very important). Enjoy! :)
