I'm not sure where I had my first Martinez...maybe at the sable bar in Chicago. One of my favorite cocktails...like a manhattan but for me the gin makes it a bit lighter. This is how we make it at home.
1.5 oz punt y mes
2 oz ransom old Tom gin
1/4 oz luxardo
Dash of fee brothers barrel aged bitters
We build ours directly in the glass. Stir with an ice cube and put a lemon twist on top.
