About this Cocktail

Original! I made this wanting to use elderflower as well as a simple syrup I made with rose and orange blossom water. This is a riff on a cocktail I had in DC called rose rye. It had rye whiskey and rose water. It was balanced and delicious. This take uses additional ingredients including the St Germain and Creme De Viollette (which I’ve been meaning to use in other drinks that are not the Aviation). I hope you guys like it. Cheers!

Note: For the simple syrup make 2:1 simple syrup as usual and add about half an ounce of rose water and half ounce of orange blossom water, toss a stick of cinnamon and boil, cool, and strain into a bottle.

  • 2oz Rye Whiskey (Bulleit is a great choice)
  • Half oz of St Germain Eldeflower Liquer
  • .25oz crema de viollette
  • 1oz lemon juice
  • Orange bitter dash (2-3 dashes)
  • 1 oz Rose/orange blossom water simple
  • 1 egg white
  • Maraschino cherry for garnish

Add ingredients into cocktail shaker, dry shake with egg white, the add cracked ice and shake, strain into chilled coupe glass. Enjoy!
