About this Cocktail

Another recipe from Sam Ross (famous also for his Paper Plane & Penicillin) of Attaboy in New York. Inspired to try this following watching Steve the Bartender throw one together last summer, it made me go out & but a bottle Cynar (pronounced “chin-r”). I’ve waited long enough to taste those 13 botanicals AND the artichoke flavor that it’s noted for. And I’ll admit, I’m pretty sure this was the first time I’ve used whole pieces/slices of fruit in a shaker WITHOUT muddling them!

Ingredients:
  • 1 oz Tanquerey 10 Gin (Beefeater is in the original recipe)
  • 1 oz Cynar •
  • 3/4 oz Freshly Squeezed Lemon 🍋 Juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup ^
  • 2 Orange 🍊 slices
  • No garnish
Preparation:

Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice.

Shake vigorously (hard to impact the orange slices which you did NOT muddle!) until chilled.

Double strain into a chilled coupe.
