About this Cocktail

Apropos for the Southwestern desert. From 'Savoy' by Craddock. 1930.

  • 2 oz rye
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup
  • 1 egg white
  • Absinthe rinse

Dry shake all ingredients but absinthe. Add cracked ice. Shake vigorously. Rinse chilled glass with absinthe. Strain mix into glass.

    Very tasty. The absinthe really stands out in the nose. More so than in a sazerac. Always love the whiskey/lemon combo. Go to drink for sure

    Absinthe... Huh! I typically use maple syrup and some Pechaud's Bitters in mine.
